Special Announcement: This position will begin in Lafayette, IN and will transition to Lebanon, IN by the end of the year.

The EHS Associate III will assist the Section Manager and Onboarding Training Team Leader in leading Team members, coordinating and supporting workflow of day-to-day operation of area; promoting cooperative team relationships, establishing and maintaining priorities, following training schedule, staying on tasks, and ensuring educational opportunities are created. Occasionally performing various warehousing functions such as 5S, housekeeping, audits, etc., at a Caterpillar warehouse/distribution facility. Will perform on-the-job department specific training utilizing standard work training material. Provide follow-up training after new associates or agency workers have been through the initial basic training period. Provide support for the Onboarding Training Team Leader to ensure that cross-training and/or new associate/agency workers have been properly introduced and trained in standard work operations for their specific department.

  • Relocation is not offered for this position
  • 1st Shift Mon-Fri 6:30am-2:30pm
  • Hourly rate begins at $22.45/hour

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains cooperative relationships with all team members and must be able to work overtime and irregular shifts as needed.
  • May be required to help support and/or develop additions to standard work or update department specific policies and procedures.
  • Assists with coordinating various training support systems and activities, including training proposals, etc.
  • Identifies and maintains training records/data.
  • Sets up, operates and maintains training equipment.
  • Lead training with multifunctional team within classroom and hands-on vehicles
  • Oversee trainees in zones through training
  • Occasionally lead problem-solving situations to drive continuous improvement
  • Occasionally track safety metrics
  • Meet Safety goals
  • Help with investigations on incidents/ injuries.
  • Utilize heavy equipment, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Perform material handling and warehousing functions as required
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work OT when required
  • Assist in leading team meetings guiding daily priorities and changing management
  • Demonstrating safety excellence and enforcing safety policies and procedures
  • Continuously managing training matrix to ensure team cooperation
  • Team Coordination & Leadership
    • Support tasks and responsibilities within onboarding and EHS team members.
    • Monitor daily operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of onboarding activities.
    • Foster a cooperative and inclusive team culture through regular communication and support.
  • Training & Development
    • Follow and enforce the established training schedule for new hires.
    • Ensure all onboarding materials and training programs are up-to-date and relevant.
    • Identify and create educational opportunities to enhance team and new hire development.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Establish and adjust priorities based on business needs and team capacity.
    • Ensure onboarding processes align with company policies and compliance standards.
    • Track progress and stay on task to meet onboarding timelines and goals.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Collaborate with HR and other departments to refine onboarding strategies.

Physical Qualifications:

  • Occasionally lift parts up to 35 pounds individually or 70 pound as team lift
  • Occasional bending, reaching and squatting while performing tasks
  • Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
  • Work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
  • Standing and/or sitting at a desk while performing tasks

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in team leadership or coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in training development and facilitation is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical and analytical skills
  • Working with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, and Access
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
  • Leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with employee lifecycle and engagement strategies.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining documentation and reports.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Previous leadership experience in manufacturing or logistics operation
  • Demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience

What You Will Get:

Starting wage is $22.45/hour. Overtime opportunities paid at time and a half (some may be mandatory).

Summary Pay Range:

$22.45 - $28.05
