The Opportunity
- Lead development and maintenance of effective relationships with assigned offshore and dredge customer accounts, as well as internal and dealer stakeholders
- Develop and execute account strategies and activities for assigned customers; establish strong relationships with key decision makers and identify business needs and opportunities
- Drive development and implementation of regional market and account strategies, securing alignment and commitment of Caterpillar and dealer resources to deliver customer satisfaction and long-term growth
What You Will Do
Account Management & Customer Engagement
- Lead and participate in key account opportunities, collaborating with dealers, internal Caterpillar teams and leadership to deliver aligned and competitive solutions
- Define long-term priorities with customers, aligning customer objectives with Caterpillar’s capabilities to strengthen partnerships and drive sustainable growth
- Leverage Caterpillar’s product, service and lifecycle solutions to demonstrate value and support customer outcomes across the asset lifecycle
- Follow organizational policies and procedures and maintaining clear, open and direct line of communication within the organization to meet customer requirements
- Consult with dealers and internal business partners on sales and service support of product to key customer accounts
- Support communication with customers on pricing, delivery timelines, anticipated delays and relevant updates
- Work directly with customers to collect information, identify opportunities and ensure customer needs are understood and addressed
What You Have
Industry Knowledge:
Experience in marine – offshore, dredge or related industries, with a strong commercial understanding of customer operations, vessel lifecycle and equipment applications. Exposure to ship owners, operators, shipyards, vessel designers and/or offshore service providers is preferred.
Customer Focus:
Market-oriented and customer-centric with strong strategic thinking capability. Experience working with dealers and customers; ability to align customer needs with Caterpillar solutions and create long-term value.
Effective Communications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal teams, dealers, and customers. Ability to clearly articulate ideas, influence stakeholders and manage complex discussions.
Account Management:
Knowledge of account management practices with the ability to manage customer relationships, opportunities, and day-to-day activities. Proactive approach with ability to prioritize and drive execution.
Negotiating:
Understanding of Negotiation concepts and ability to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes with customers and partners
Value Selling:
Ability to position Caterpillar products and services based on total value, differentiating solutions through reliability, lifecycle support and customer outcomes.
Top Candidates Also Have: (Qualifications)
- Experience in marine propulsion, power systems, and/or offshore applications
- Proven experience (5–8+ years) in a similar account management or commercial role
- Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field; Business degree is an advantage
- Strong understanding of dealer/OEM operating models
- Fluency in English; Additional languages such as Arabic, French, Portuguese or Spanish are an advantage

- The role requires up to 30-50% travel
